Afternoon English language courses (5-6-7 Levels)
2 x 105 minutes per week
Every language course we offer has two lessons per week, each lasting 105 minutes of instruction.
Level 5-6-7
From intermediate to C1 exam level
Start of course: 1st September
The 5th to 7th levels of ESB’s afternoon English courses are for you if you already communicate confidently in English and want to elevate your skills further. You will learn how to produce complex texts, speak fluently, and present confidently on a variety of topics. You will develop your argumentation skills and vocabulary while using English more and more subtly. These courses not only prepare you for language exams but also help you succeed in applying to either domestic or foreign universities. Your starting level will be determined after a free placement test.
By the end of the course:
- you will confidently use the grammatical structures expected at this level according to the Cambridge curriculum.
- This includes simple and perfect tenses,
- relative clauses,
- and the zero, first, second, and third conditionals.
During the course, you will work with exciting topics such as:
- films, stereotypes and social norms, wonders of the world, the Middle Ages, and video games.

As part of the program, you will learn:
- the regular use of silent letters. You will apply your knowledge when reading articles, short stories, and novels, enabling you to understand connections more deeply.
In the final phase of the program:
- you will get acquainted with consonant patterns of Greek and Latin origin,
- deepen your knowledge of complex word analysis,
- while reading increasingly complex texts: novels, short stories, and plays.
During the course, you will work with exciting topics such as:
- natural resources, media, rainforests, crime and punishment, and supernatural phenomena.

During the course:
- The emphasis will be on longer spoken contributions and developing independent writing skills.
- You will practice structuring and delivering presentations as well.
The grammar goals include:
- mastering all forms of the future continuous, as well as learning the subjunctive and imperative moods.
By the end of the program:
- you will perform high-level reading comprehension tasks, for example, processing studies, short stories, plays, and novels.
During the course, you will work with exciting topics such as:
- ethical worldviews, Vikings, visions of the future, business, and psychology.

- how to plan and write complex, longer texts,
- including reports, articles, and literary essays, as these are all key elements of CEFR C1 level English proficiency.
