Introduction to Law
Start of course: 6th October, Monday
Have you wondered what law is and why it matters in daily life? Why do rules exist? What rights and duties do we have? How do elections work? If you are interested or considering law as a career, this is for you!
No prior legal knowledge needed. Ideal if:
- You want to understand everyday legal situations
- You are interested in politics, justice, democracy
- You are curious how society functions legally
What you will learn:
- How law functions in society
- You will get an overview of the main branches of law: civil, constitutional, labor, international law
- You will see how law affects your daily life, for example in shopping, contracts and elections
- You will learn to think from a legal perspective, argumentation and critical questioning
- You will be able to decide if law is your career path
How you will learn:
- Discussions on real-life issues
- Group problem solving and case studies
- Multimedia learning tools – teaching methods from the 21st century
- Role playing – analyzing real life legal situations
- Short reading assignments – Easy to understand readings and debate topics
